Before starting the installation, the craftsmen must make sure about the type of substrate. Masonry or concrete? Where is the reinforcement located? Because: If the drill is simply set in place and then hits iron after a few millimeters, for example, it won’t go any further. The dowel cannot be placed as originally planned. If the anchor plate of the railing is placed too close to the edge or the distances between the railing posts are too small or too large, safety is no longer guaranteed. The railing will then no longer provide optimum support. Tip: The minimum distance to the edge and between the posts must be maintained in any case. It is calculated before work begins. A preliminary design with the actions of the tensile or shear force and the bending moment should be prepared by the designer. The verification is fulfilled if the resistance is greater than the action.
